My Food Blog

They say there is nothing a woman can’t do… and I say there is nothing a woman can’t cook. Be it stories in the friends’ circle, or in the kitchen. Like a friend of mine says, you have to want to learn how to cook. You might have spent all your life thinking food comes from a machine called microwave, where it is cooked and heated, never knowing how a microwave looks like; at least a life size one... Pictures don’t count.

But in most women’s life there comes a time, when she has to make her grand entry into the kitchen, and learn how to handle pots and pans, and fires and burns. The woman learns how to boil, fry and grill in the kitchen, already having learnt how to do those to people around her.

I learnt to step into the kitchen recently, and boil eggs, fry masalas to put into the dal. I am yet to learn how to grill; though my man wouldn’t agree. In his opinion, I have picked up the art of grilling well.

Hence started my journey into the world of kitchen, where the most delightful gastronomical wonders are created.

It’s always nice to be at the root of something, watch it grow, take shape and then turn into the desired outcome. The wonder of creation is the law of nature I suppose. And being a woman, it always feels special to be the one to create something that brings joy and happiness. And food definitely does… to all mankind.

I decided to record my experiences in the kitchen and hoped I would be read and appreciated for the efforts. Someone somewhere must be reading my mindless ranting, spiced and flavored with the recipes I try in the womb of all savory delight.

I am hoping you will read and leave a comment on my efforts and experiences.

Bon appétit!
